Yah, my head is still spinning from all the reading and writing of this week. But hey, I made into week 4.
This week was fast-paced with the summer camps and July 4th party over the weekend. I thought I am going to have difficulty to get things done in the timely fashion I had planned. But, everything did get done. The design assignment was fun and I found it is easy to be related with my focal theme. For one of the daily creates, I got to use the Sketch Pad app on my phone and found it very easy to play with and comes with lots of options for paint brushes.
My biggest struggle this week was the required reading. Not because the text/content is hard to understand, but I found it difficult to be applied at my work. The school I am currently working has restricted rules about the communication between students and teachers - everything has to go through school-signed Email. Teachers are not encouraged "friends"/"followed"by students on social medias. So even though I learned a great deal of benefits of blogging, how am I going to implement that in my classroom? I would like to learn more technology that I can use in my classroom immediately, such as Hypothesis, web-annotation.
Overall, this was another great week for Digital Storytelling. Through exploring my digital story to critique, I was inspired to investigate more on Youtube video sensations. I already have a list of videos that I would like to share in the next couple weeks. Watching and critique videos definitely gave a deep insight of what a good digital story should look like and would help me in the future how to create a better digital story. Great week – I feel like I met the expectations but next week, I would like to explore more technology/apps on my own.
